Our History

Trillium International School was founded in 2003 after a visit to Trinidad by a former Ontario school principal, originally from Trinidad. During her visit, she was encouraged by the wife of then Prime Minister Patrick Manning to establish a Canadian-curriculum school locally—recognizing the need for quality international education. Inspired by that conversation and her experience with the Ontario system, she set out to create a school where students could receive a globally respected education, right here at home.

"The Trillium flower, featured in our name and emblem, is the official floral emblem of Ontario, Canada—symbolizing growth, renewal, and our strong connection to Canadian education."
