Academic Medal

The Governor General’s Academic Medal, established in 1873, is one of Canada’s most prestigious awards. It recognizes the highest academic achievement among students graduating from high school or approved post-secondary programs. Past recipients include notable figures such as Pierre Trudeau, Tommy Douglas, and Kim Campbell.

Ontario Scholars are high school graduates in Ontario who achieve an average of 80% or higher in their six best Grade 12 courses. This prestigious award is granted by the Ontario Ministry of Education.
